The craftsmanship underpinned by the manufacturing capability allowed Woodland to meet the exacting quality and aesthetic standards demanded by the Client for its first state-of-the art, Apart-hotel in the prestigious London Waterloo location.
To deliver such a highly crafted solution and make it scalable was the particular challenge presented to Woodland and we were delighted to exceed the expectations of the client, Damien D’Arcy, Director of Design commented, “Woodland were an exemplary partner inasmuch as they went that extra mile to deliver the finer details that we wanted to see in such a flagship project. The beautiful painted, solid wood, In-frame kitchen was one such example. We were struck by the willingness and professionalism of the whole Woodland team to deliver this project to such a high standard.”
The blend of materials and palette chosen created the right ambiance within the rooms. The painted matt finish in the kitchens, with the richness of a textured, Gladstone Oak finish, in the bedroom furniture, gave a luxurious yet fresh feel within the rooms which is designed to resonate with the more discerning guest that the hotel will cater for.
The experience Marlin Waterloo offers is designed to address the rising trend in the “bleisure” segment of hospitality market; this is a travel trend where the line between business and leisure is blurred. It firmly places Woodland at the forefront of understanding what is required and how to deliver the very specific needs of the business traveler who wish to incorporate leisure into their stay. The other demographic the hotel caters for is the family who want flexibility whilst being close to all the amazing attractions in the heart of London.

- Client: Adagio Apart-Hotel
- Location: The Royal Mile, Edinburgh

- Project details: Design, manufacture, supply of kitchenettes, solid worktops and slide-robes for 146 bedrooms within 13 weeks.
The Adagio Apart-hotel in Edinburgh offers tourists and business people the chance to enjoy a mini-apartment experience in the most famous “old town” part of the Scottish capital city. The compact studios and one bedroom apartments feel spacious thanks to the ergonomically designed rooms, with well-equipped kitchenettes and slide robes. The brief was addressed by delivering the on-trend soft grey matt doors in the kitchen & light taupe grey doors in the sliderobes to make the most of the light coming into the rooms. The solid Ceasarstone mink worktop added a contrasting elegance to the finish with soft closing doors ensuring noise was kept at a minimum. Sleek chrome handles with under cabinet LED lighting completed the contemporary, classic clean look. Woodland worked closely with the architects, designers and operators to deliver the look and feel within budget, while making sure the aesthetic of the room was not compromised.
